JEFF DICKEY, PRINCIPAL HORN

Jeff Dickey attended both Humboldt State University and Fresno State University. He earned a master’s degree in horn performance from Fresno State, having studied with Jim Winter. His teaching career began in the Ukiah School District, and for the past 10 years, he has been teaching music at Franklin Middle School in Vallejo. Along the way, Dickey has found himself in classrooms at every grade level from kindergarten through university. He finds teaching middle school the most enjoyable, if not the most challenging. When not teaching, Dickey finds enjoyment playing horn—chamber music and the Contra Costa Wind Symphony being his favorites. For recreational enjoyment, he can be seen sailing the Bay on Scherzo, a 30-foot sailboat.
