This season, the Contra Costa Wind Symphony will present three formal indoor concerts at the Lesher Center for the Arts, as well as several free community performances throughout Contra Costa County. “Heroes and Villains” – Our Opening of the Season

The Contra Costa Wind Symphony invites you to an exciting afternoon of musical storytelling with their upcoming concert, Heroes & Villains, taking place at 2:00 PM in the Hoffman Theater at the Lesher Center for the Arts. The performance features an impressive lineup of dramatic repertoire, including Prokofiev’s whimsical Lt. Kijé Suite, a thrilling journey in Mary Shelley Meets Frankenstein, and Berlioz’s hauntingly vivid “Dream of a Witches’ Sabbath” from Symphonie Fantastique (Movement 5). A central highlight of the afternoon will be a guest appearance by acclaimed flute soloist Gary Lewis from Humboldt State University, who will perform Charles Griffes’ beautifully evocative masterpiece, Poem (often associated with the lush, impressionistic style of Fauré).
Winterfest

The Contra Costa Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Luis Zuñiga, presents Winterfest. This FREE holiday concert features a festive program blending traditional carols with contemporary arrangements. The concert offers a joyful start to the holiday season for the local community!
